Nail Polish for Muslim

Assalamualaikum dearessttt... ok this time I wanna share with you guys something that I just found..(well maybe I'm a bit late for those who know it already right). Maybe a lot of you didn't know that nail polish can be Halal.. Woww.. seriously..???? naahhh...I'm not kidding.... It called Acquarella..

     Muslim women have been raving about “breathable” and “wudhu-friendly” nail polish, getting as excited about these as the health-conscious do about non-toxic ones.

We got in touch with Acquarella, a water-based nail polish label based in Arizona, to get the lowdown on their product range that has been approved by Mufti Omar Dawood of Islamic Lifestyle Solutions, a non-profit organisation based in South Africa.

    We wondered how an American company came to the decision to produce “halal” nail polish. It began with Saaima Moola, their exclusive distributor in South Africa. She explained, “Acquarella has always been breathable, permeable, non-toxic [and] free of chemicals of animal origin. Being a cosmetologist, knowing, learning and studying the ingredients that we use so freely in all our cosmetics was a concern to me.”

    On a mission to find products that “Muslim women could use with a clear mind”, Saaima’s research brought up a few products, one of which was Acquarella. After a year of laboratory tests, she found that “water definitely passes through the product to touch the nails to validate wudhu”. On their end, Acquarella’s internal testing concluded that it takes four minutes for water to seep through to the nail.^[i]

    “Acquarella proved to be the best of the lot, in all aspects. Permeability was my main concern, [but it also] passed all the other tests: durability and gorgeous colour palette.”

The company’s international liaison personnel Mark Deason explains that the difference between Acquarella and traditional nail polish lies in the ingredients. To form a film on nails, Acquarella uses acrylic copolymers instead of nitrocellulose, which “suffocates the nail plate”, and it uses water as a solvent instead of hazardous chemicals like toluene. Because it is water-based, Acquarella is best removed with its own water- and plant-derived polish remover, which does not dry or crack the nails and cuticles.

    “There’s no denying that water-based nail polishes are better than conventional ones since water is the most preferable solvent – your body is primarily made of it. Frequent exposure to toxicants is significantly reduced without [the presence of] questionable solvents, whether plant- or petrochemical-derived.”

    Acquarella’s seasonal colour inspirations come from their director of public relations Polly Deason, who spent many years in the retail cosmetics segment. For example, La Luna was actually a colour inspired for Eid.

    Luckily for Muslimahs around the world, Acquarella accepts international online orders – you only need to worry about which colours to choose.

I'm not strong!!!

Ketenangan yang susah nak dapat di mana-mana.. ketenangan hanya dapat bila kita dekat dengan Pencipta kita.. ya aku tak nafikan kadang-kadang aku lemah.. aku hanya manusia.. tak dapat lari daripada merasa putus asa tentang sesuatu perkara..

Mendapat tawaran belajar merupakan satu nikmat yang tak terkata oleh aku.. aku bersyukur dalam aku mempunyai IQ yang x berapa tinggi, aku dapat melanjutkan pelajaran aku di Universiti idaman aku.. yang tak semua orang akan dapat..dalam beribu manusia yang memohon aku merupakan salah satu daripada golongan itu... Aku diuji dengan berbagai cabaran setelah aku menerima tawaran belajar itu.. aku bukan datang daripada golongan yang mampu.. aku berkerja untuk menyara keluarga memandangkan ada dua orang adik di bawahku yang masih melanjutkan pelajaran.. Walaupon aku bekerja sambil belajar, aku masih kekurangan sumber kewangan memandang kan aku tidak mempunyai sebarang kenderaan untuk bergerak... Ya pada mulanya aku ragu-ragu untuk menerima tawaran itu, setelah ak memohon pertongan Yang Maha Esa, aku yakin dengan keputusan aku.

Kini aku sudah memasuki semester 2 yang akan menduduki peperiksaan akhir tak lama lagi.. Alhamdulillah setelah diuji dengan berbagai cabaran aku masih mampu dan kuat untuk menghadapinya,, aku tahu bukan mudah untuk belajar sambil berkerja.. kadang-kadang aku lemah dan putus asa sehinggakan aku terfikir untuk berhenti belajar.. semua orang disekeliling aku mengharapkan aku untuk mendapat segulung ijazah nanti.. Tapi mereka tak tahu bagaimana aku melalui semua nya dengan memendam perasaan aku sendiri..

Aku diuji dengan banyak perkara.. Aku tak ada kenderaan untuk pergi ke kelas, mengharapkan kakak aku dan orang-orang disekeliling ku.. tebal muka aku untuk meminta pertolongan daripada mereka..Kita tak tahu bagaimana perasaan mereka..suka kah benci kah meluat kah????? aku cuma berharap agar aku dapat menghabiskan pelajaran aku.. aku tak mahu menyusahkan mereka.. Tapi apa pilihan yang aku ada.. aku tak mampu nak berdepan dengan semua ini..

Menangis keseorangan agar tak siapa tahu akan apa yang aku rasa.. aku penat dengan diri sendiri sebab terpaksa menyembunyikan apa yang aku rasa.. bukan tak mahu bercerita.. untuk apa aku bercerita kalau orang lain tak pernah nak faham apa yang aku rasa.. fedup??? ya ak fedup dengan orang-orang yang hipokrit disekeliling aku.. sakit ati???? ya aku sakit ati dengan semua yang berlaku.. penat??? ya aku sangat penat nak berdepan dengan semua yang berlaku dengan memendam perasaan aku sendiri..
